EEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This is my favorite little two day sweatfest that will probably get too big for the neighborhood's britches in a year or two as no good turn ever goes unpunished, but for now it's still flying pretty much under the local political radar & 30 to 40 bands of all kinds play for nothin' but glory, chicks, &/or their own edification & the proceeds go to the Salvation Army & the Community Action Committee. So if you go there not only will you be thoroughly entertained but you will be DOIN' GOOD! Be ready to camp & bring EVERYTHING that you need. It is a for real Pasture after all with all of the attendant Varmints, critters, gopher holes, chiggers, poison oak, skeeters, hay stubble sharp enough to go through your bare foot, tarantulas, bugs, cowshit, & suchlike. Did I forget anything? It's a Paaaaasture, y'all. Me? I'm either with my Winnebago Amigo over at the Slaves of Utopia camp & I'm not gonna know you once he throws another log on the A.C. or I'm napping on Smokey's back porch a good long way from all you lunatics. And No. Don't even go there with that ol' Singin' All Day & Dinner on the Ground, hail fellow well met, jive, 'cause I know what that leads to & Homey don't play that game. This particuliar lil' ol' rodeo has already ridden me to ground (so to speak) more than once. Oh Mama.
But if you're a real sport the gates open @ noon Friday & if you want to get there in time to hear me play I suggest you leave work early (or just don't go) & be settled in at the acoustic stage by 4:00pm as the band schedule can sometimes take on a life of its own.(after all, the musicians are runnin' it) Check out the Smokey site to find out what you can & CAN'T get away with. I just hope the guy with the big iron kettle is there again this year frying the best chicharrones I ever ate. AMBROSIA with a crunch! All the bands will have cd's at the My Texas Music.com tent so that you can take home something to remind you of that great time you had that you can't seem to be able to remember much about..... So don't forget to take a couple of gallons of water to help wash the beer & weenies down, a sombrero, some sunscreen & a lawnchair, and leave that sissy little Porsche at home or I promise that if it rains, you'll be leavin' that sucker either in a mudhole as big as Dallas or out at Smokey's front gate. I LOVE IT! C'mon.
